Mission Statement: The Friends of the South Shore Blueway Inc. is registered under section 402 of the New York State not-for-profit Corporation law.   The South Shore Blueway provides public water access for human powered watercraft on the south shore of Long Island, New York.  The purpose for which the “Friends” is formed is to increase the general public and Long Island community’s exposure to, and responsible use, enjoyment, and appreciation of, the South Shore Blueway Trail and to promote the South Shore Blueway as a recreational, environmental, and cultural resource and destination. The Friends of the South Shore Blueway promotes water safety and ecology of the south shore bays of Long Island.

The organization supports the South Shore Blueway by organizing functions and raising funds to support and maintain the South Shore Blueway.
